To feel alive

When was the last time you tested your pain tolerance?
When was the last time you purposely made yourself uncomfortable?
Do you embrace stress or run from it?
For the first few million years of our existence, we roamed the earth facing danger. We had to battle animals, extreme weather, elements and food shortage. This was apart of everyday life.
Fast forward a few million years.
We are weak. Our modern comforts have been life changing. Food is in large supply to most of us. There is no longer a great struggle to survive for people in the modern world. All of this comfort has also made us weak.
We carry around extra pounds we don't need. The slightest drop in temperature we run for a blanket or jacket. The heat bothers us. Feeling just a little bit hungry makes us crazy. Whenever we hear the work "difficult" or "hard" we get stressed and usually shy away from it.
Stop.
The new year starts in a few weeks. Instead of committing to some harebrained, weird diet or exercise plan that usually fades away by February. Try learning to be miserable.
Do things that suck.
Take a cold shower.
Don't wear a jacket from your house to your car.
Do 100 pushups a day.
Stop eating breakfast. It's not the most important meal of the day, that's bullshit.
Try to eat all your calories in a 8-10 hour window. Fasting for 16 hours a day.
In the summer, exercise outside in the hottest part of the day.
Do these three things everyday: Jump in the air, sprint, and pick up something heavy, preferably outside when it's really hot or really cold out.
2019 bring out some of that human that lived 2 million years ago.
